St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton is celebrating the success of several pupils who were recognised at the Stockton School Sports Partnership Awards. The awards highlighted the dedication, commitment and enthusiasm shown by pupils both in PE lessons and through wider sporting opportunities.
St Joseph’s Marks Year 6 Leavers’ Mass
St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton recently gathered together for a beautiful Year 6 Leavers’ Mass, celebrating the journey, achievements and memories of its wonderful Year 6 pupils. The special occasion provided an opportunity for the school community to come together in prayer and thanksgiving as the children prepare for the next stage of their education.

Reception pupils at St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton enjoyed a fantastic Sports Day filled with excitement, determination and plenty of smiles. The children demonstrated excellent resilience, teamwork and sportsmanship as they took part in a range of fun sporting activities throughout the afternoon.
POW Ambassadors Inspired During Visit to the University of Cambridge
St Joseph’s Catholic Academy’s POW Ambassadors recently enjoyed an exciting and inspiring visit to the University of Cambridge. Bathed in glorious sunshine, the group toured the historic university grounds and discovered what life is really like as a university student. Along the way, they even learned an interesting fact about student life at Cambridge, discovering that accommodation is cleaned for students.
Classes 3 and 4 Enjoy Memorable Day at Saltburn Beach
Pupils in Classes 3 and 4 from St Joseph’s Catholic Academy enjoyed a wonderful trip to Saltburn beach. The day included a scenic walk through the gardens, time playing in the park and the opportunity to enjoy lunch together on the beach.
Year 5 Enjoy Exciting Taster Day at St Michael’s Catholic Academy
Year 5 pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton enjoyed a fantastic and busy taster day at St Michael’s Catholic Academy this week. The day began with an exciting Maths relay, which encouraged pupils to think critically, solve problems and work together as a team. Their enthusiasm and collaboration set the tone for a successful day of learning.

Pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton enjoyed an unforgettable visit to the YMT Youth Festival at Emmaus Youth Village, taking part in a day filled with faith, friendship and fun.

Pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton took part in a Year 3/4 Girls’ Football Festival, enjoying a morning of sport, teamwork and achievement.
Literacy Comes to Life at Wynyard Woodland Park
Class 3 from St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton enjoyed a fun and engaging visit to Wynyard Woodland Park, taking part in a literacy trail inspired by The Smeds and the Smoos.
Choir Performs at Stockton Waterfront Opening
St Joseph’s Catholic Academy’s school choir made everyone incredibly proud with a special performance at the opening of the Stockton Waterfront. The children joined pupils from other local schools, alongside Cattle and Cane, to perform a unique song they helped to write all about Stockton.
Year 6 Leavers’ Books
St Joseph’s Catholic Academy would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the PTA for providing the Year 6 leavers’ books. The children were delighted to receive their personalised books, which they helped to design themselves. Over the coming weeks, they are looking forward to filling the pages with messages, memories, and reflections from their final days at primary school.
