Choir Performs at Stockton Waterfront Opening
St Joseph’s Catholic Academy’s school choir made everyone incredibly proud with a special performance at the opening of the Stockton Waterfront. The children joined pupils from other local schools, alongside Cattle and Cane, to perform a unique song they helped to write all about Stockton.
Year 6 Leavers’ Books
St Joseph’s Catholic Academy would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the PTA for providing the Year 6 leavers’ books. The children were delighted to receive their personalised books, which they helped to design themselves. Over the coming weeks, they are looking forward to filling the pages with messages, memories, and reflections from their final days at primary school.
Supporting CAFOD: A Community Effort
St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton would like to thank everyone who supported this year’s Lenten appeal for CAFOD. Together, the school community raised £325.62, which will contribute to CAFOD’s work supporting communities and building brighter futures around the world.
Summer Snappy Music Concert Success
Pupils from St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton took part in a joyful Summer Snappy Music Concert, organised by Tees Valley Music Service. The school choir joined pupils from other local schools for this special event. The children spent the morning rehearsing together, building confidence and preparing for a shared performance.
Celebrating First Holy Communion
A very special occasion was recently celebrated at St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton, as pupils received their First Holy Communion. This important step in the children’s faith journey was marked with a beautiful and uplifting celebration. Our Year 6 pupils recently took part in a valuable transition workshop led by Alliance, helping them prepare for the exciting next step in their educational journey. During the session, pupils explored what to expect at secondary school, discussing new experiences, routines and opportunities. It was a great chance for children to ask questions and share their thoughts.
Fun at the Farm: Reception Enjoy a Day to Remember
Our Reception pupils had the most amazing day at Hall Hill Farm, bringing their current topic to life through a hands‑on and unforgettable experience. The children loved getting up close to a range of animals, including chicks, guinea pigs and rabbits, as well as feeding lambs, goats, donkeys and more. Their excitement and curiosity shone through as they learned about life on the farm.

Athletics Success: A Record‑Breaking Day for Team St Joseph’s
Our Year 5 and 6 athletics team had a fantastic day representing the school across a range of track and field events. Pupils showed outstanding determination, impressive skills and true sportsmanship in every race, jump and throw. Their effort and encouragement of one another made the day even more special.
Stepping Back in Time: Year 5 and 6 Visit Beamish
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed an exciting and educational day out at Beamish Museum, bringing history to life. During the visit, pupils took part in an evacuee workshop on the farm, where they learned how to black out windows and wrote letters home, imagining life during wartime.
Team Spirit on Show: Class 5 at Striking and Fielding Festival
Our Class 5 pupils had a fantastic time taking part in a striking and fielding festival. Throughout the afternoon, the children enjoyed a variety of exciting activities and games, developing their skills in a fun and supportive environment.
