Students from Y5 and Y6 are given the opportunity to put themselves forward to be part of the Pupil Chaplaincy Team each year. They work with the adult chaplaincy team to lead the school in its faith.
The Pupil Chaplaincy Team take a prominent role in preparing and supporting whole school assemblies and whole school masses where they organise the Bible readings, plan the offertory and read our prayers of intercession. They also plan and deliver prayer groups during advent and lent.
In support of our charity work, they help to plan and organise fundraisers; supporting our local food bank, Macmillan coffee morning, raising funds and awareness for Cafod and supporting Fair Trade fortnight.
The Pupil Chaplaincy Team are also responsible for the sacred spaces around school and carries out fortnightly checks on classroom prayer areas. They also keep our prayer garden clean and tidy.
They meet each week to discuss their future plans and to come together in reflection and prayer. Each member of the Pupil Chaplaincy Team also works toward achieving the Faith in Action Pin award, where they keep a reflective journal of all that they have taken part in, and a memento of their personal faith journey.
