Class 9 had an amazing time this week at St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton, working with our new cricket coach, Matty, from the Durham Cricket Foundation. Their session focused on developing key throwing and catching skills through a series of fun, fast‑paced activities.
The children practised rolling, bouncing, and underarm throws, as well as positioning themselves for close and deep catches. They also worked together in small groups as fielding teams, showcasing teamwork, quick reactions, and real enthusiasm.
Beyond developing their sporting skills, Class 9 demonstrated important values — supporting one another, taking turns, and celebrating each other’s efforts. They showed how we grow together, work for the common good, and recognise the value of every person in our community.
Big smiles all around — what a wonderful start to their cricket journey!
