Our Year 5 and 6 maths group had an incredibly fun and fast‑paced session as they took on the exciting Post‑it Note Challenge — an activity designed to supercharge mental‑maths skills and boost confidence through teamwork.
The classroom quickly turned into a buzzing hub of number‑matching action. Pupils were given a mix of calculations and answers scattered across the table, and their mission was simple:
Think fast. Move fast. Match them all.
Maths + Movement = Motivation
The challenge encouraged pupils to build key skills such as:
- Rapid mental calculation
- Communication and collaboration
- Quick thinking under pressure
- Confidence in sharing ideas
There was lots of excited shouting, heaps of energy, and plenty of proud moments as pupils raced to match each calculation to the correct answer. The competitive spirit made the room come alive — and the smiles said it all!
