Year 5 at St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Norton enjoyed a wonderful couple of days on retreat at the Diocesan Youth Village, taking part in an experience filled with faith, friendship and personal growth.

Exploring Faith in Meaningful Ways

Throughout their stay, the children had opportunities to explore and celebrate their Catholic faith in new and meaningful ways. Moments of reflection allowed them to think deeply about their relationship with God, while guided sessions encouraged them to express gratitude, hope and joy.

Teamwork and Community

The retreat also gave pupils the chance to strengthen their sense of community. Through team‑building games, group challenges and collaborative activities, the children supported one another, shared laughter and built stronger friendships.

Creative and Fun Activities

The days were filled with engaging activities, including:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Community‑building tasks
  • Outdoor team challenges
  • Plenty of fun moments that helped create lasting memories

The peaceful surroundings of the Youth Village gave pupils a calm and nurturing space to grow spiritually, emotionally and socially.

Our Year 5 children represented the school beautifully, showing maturity, kindness and enthusiasm throughout their retreat.

A truly unforgettable experience — well done, Year 5!
